Digitization of documents of Pontificia Università Gregoriana' Archivio Storico

Cooperation agreement among the Archivio Storico della Pontificia Università Gregoriana, the Istituto di Linguistica Computazionale “Antonio Zampolli” - CNR (Pisa) and the Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale for the employment of the Web Open Source Applications Pinakes 3.0 and Pinakes Text in the digitization and catalogue of the different types of documents belonging to historical and modern collections of the Archivio Storico della Pontificia Università Gregoriana. Digital online edition of Ferdinand de Saussure' manuscripts

Pinakes 3.0 and Pinakes Text will be used for the Digital online edition of Ferdinand de Saussure' manuscripts, thanks to an agreement for scientific collaboration among the Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale and the PRIN Research Unit of the Dipartimento di Filosofia - University of Calabria, of the Dipartimento di Linguistica - University of Firenze, of the Dipartimento di Studi Linguistici e Letterari - University of Salerno and of the Istituto di Linguistica Computazionale “Antonio Zampolli” - CNR (Pisa). VivaVoce: digitization projects

The Centre VivaVoce, active in the field of recovery, restoration and enhancement of sound recordings, has taken on charges for:
- the recovery of the collection of images obtained thanks to the digitization of manuscripts and reproductions of Dante Alighieri' works that are preserved at the Società Dantesca Italiana
- the digitization of the collection of audio tapes of the Istituto Storico della Resistenza in Toscana' Sound Archive. More

E-learning

Sound Archives: preservation, digitization and restoration

Developed in collaboration with MartLab-VivaVoce, the course exposes, in a popular and at the same time technically rigorous way, the problems and potential solutions for the preservation and enhancement of audio-visual, thanks to the use of information technology.
The target of the course are the professionals responsible for the maintenance and the management of sound archives. More

Europe

FRD is a Partner of the European project PersID

The Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale is a partner of the european project PersID. PersID aims to establish a persistent identifier infrastructure that unambiguously identifies and locates objects. The partners in PersID will establish local resolver services and a global resolver service for the resolution of URNs, to identify and locate a large variety of electronic resources. The first prototype of the service will be available next autumn. More

The use of digital technologies to safeguard and improve the cultural heritage is a growing phenomenon that responds to the demand for preserving the integrity of cultural heritage collections and facilitating their use and access by a widespread public. The Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale proposes to form partnerships with centres of excellence that share its purposes, on the local, national and international level, co-financing events, courses, analyses, studies and research projects.
